So my little dudes were rippin it up at OWC. This is such a great place to practice for kids. The staff is great and most of the other boarders are always willing to give the groms a few pointers. They have a full wakeboard shop, snack bar and pavilion for checking out the action. My little dudes are working CWB boards and an "OLD SCHOOL" wood wakeskate...it's so cool.

Ok, we are all looking for great summer activities for our kids but if you have wakeboarding kids what do you do…?

So, you have kids that like to wakeboard…how do you keep them busy all day when your working and cant be out on the water living the good life? If you live in Orlando, Florida you send them to Orlando Watersports Complex. My two boys just finished a weeklong session at Orlando Watersports Complex (refer to OWC in later text) here is a link for more info: http://www.orlandowatersports.com

Just a quick note: OWC is a killer wakeboard, wakeskate and water ski cable park. There are 2 cable areas (one for beginners and one for the more advanced boarders) that tow you around this huge lake. It’s very cool.

OWC has a summer camp program where you can drop your kids off at 10:00 am and then pick them up at 4:00. They have plenty of awesome staff members to organize the day for the kids. The staff also does a great job at finding out what level your kid is at: beginner or intermediate as well as what things they would like to learn or improve on while they are at camp. This year they also added 1 lesson behind one of their killer wakeboard boats. (of course my kids choose to ride the tube…ugh)

So a day for your kid looks like this:

10:00 am – the staff puts the kids through a 15-minute stretch while talking to each one. Asking them about their summer, what they like, don’t like…just real cool friendly talk so that they can get to know the kids. They also ask about what type of wakeboard gear they have or need and what wakeboard tricks or wakeskate tricks they would like to learn or get better at.

10:30 am – Kids are geared up and ready to start boarding. OWC has a full locker room filled with the hottest gear: Hyperlite, CWB, Liquid Force, Byerly, Gator as well as vests and helmets…so you don’t even need your own stuff.

10:30 am – noon – The kids and 3-4 instructors rip up the water. They can kneeboard, wakeboard or wakeskate during this time. The instructors help all the kids and insure that they can take off of the dock and know what to do if they fall.

Noon – 1:00 pm – Typically the kids will eat during this time. OWC has a full snack bar with burgers, dogs, chips, drinks…really everything needed to keep a kid pumped up. They do restrict soda consumption (this is killer).

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – The kids rip it up. They practice all the wakeboard and wakeskate tricks they have learned during the morning session.

If you are looking for a great wakeboarding or wakeskating summer camp then OWC has what you are looking for. As a parent I felt that they did a killer job working with my kids. I have a 9 year old who had never tried to wakeskate prior to the camp and by the end of the week he was killing it. My 11 year old was all over the tabletop slider, which he had never done prior to the camp. Thanks for the great camp OWC, we will be back…!

Welcome to Wakeboardstuff.com…! Wakeboarding is everything to most of you hardcore boarders out there but to some it is becoming a new way of life.

Take me for instance; I have three little kids 11, 9 and 6…two boys and a girl. They have been wakeboarding, wakeskating, snowboarding and doing pretty much everything in the water and on boards since they were 3-4 years old. But now that they are getting older wakeboarding has become more of an obsession for them and a way of life for our family.

There's a lot more to it than just hopping on a boat and going, that's why (by popular demand) a group of guys from Florida decided to get together and bring you this website. We will try to bring you the most up to date info on wakeboarding, wakeboard boats, wakeboard gear, towers, ropes and other cool industry stuff.

We are not pro’s by any means and actually I drive the boat 10x better than I wakeboard, but we have learned a few cool things along the way. We would also like for you to share your experiences with us and help provide some useful content for the new comers to the sport, knowledge is power brother.

So, jump in the water, its always great in Florida. If you've been trying to find the latest on wakeboard designs, towers, bindings, brands, apparel or just wakeboard life in general… then chill, you've found the right place.
